Meet our Park Attendants

  • Keith Brown

    Keith Brown

Did you know that Keith Brown played water polo on the Jamaican National Team and competed in the Pan Am and Caribbean Games? Or that in his spare time Keith builds and flies model airplanes?

Our longest serving beach attendant chose to live here after stopping in Naples on a fluke. Keith had been living in New York, and while visiting Southwest Florida he needed to go to the Naples airport to pick up some lost luggage. Taking a drive down 5th Avenue he was astonished to see a parked Jaguar convertible with a briefcase sitting in plain view on the front seat. He was impressed that someone could do that here without fear of it being stolen!

When he moved to Naples he was instantly impressed with the friendliness of the people. His neighbors came over with a cake and a card and introduced themselves. Keith thought that only happened in the movies! Within one week he knew everyone on his street and felt right at home.

This is one of the many reasons he's enjoyed working at the beach park for the past 16 years. He loves Naples, its people, and the Moorings Beach Park.

  • Dan Carter

    Dan Carter

Dan Carter is the newest member of the Moorings Beach Park staff. Dan joined us as a Park Attendant in January 2019, and works primarily on weekends. Dan hails from Columbus, OH and Memphis, TN. He retired in 2015 and moved to Naples in March, 2017. He and his wife, Sue, love to golf and have 3 adult children; a son and twin daughters.

Dan truly loves his role at the park. He likes working part time and appreciates being outside surrounded by the beautiful scenery of our beach park. He also enjoys meeting and getting to know our park visitors - a nice bonus!

  • Todd Geroy

A long time Naples resident, Todd Geroy moved to Naples with his family as a young teenager from North Carolina in 1977. After acquiring a home in the Moorings on Anchor Rode Dr., the family had a full time residence there until 2022. The Geroy family also owned a condo on Binnacle Dr. for many years and presently has ownership of a condominium on Alamanda Dr.

Todd is a proud husband to his wife, Kerry Geroy as well as father to three adult children along with four grandchildren with another due in early 2025. He and Kerry enjoy time with the family who are all local residents.

Todd graduated from Naples High School in 1982. Before graduating high school, in October of 1981, he acquired a USCG captains license and began a long career as a full time local waterman and fishing guide until merging into semi-retirement in the last couple of years. During his long career, he received much recognition and many awards for his accomplishments.

In 2006, Todd became a member of Leadership Collier, a group of local business people and entrepreneurs who spend a year together learning about the core of Collier County. This includes sessions on commerce, trades, growth, government, health, education and many other segments of what makes up the community.

Todd has volunteered loyal time with several local organizations including committee member and Co-Chair for the Greater Naples YMCA Redsnook fishing tournament which generated 10's of thousands of dollars for the YMCA youth programs for several years. He also founded and was Chairman for the YMCA Junior Redsnook fishing tournament which provided the opportunity for local children to have the opportunity to spend a day on the water with a local captain to compete with other youngsters and learn about local fisheries and conservation. Many of the children had never had the opportunity to experience the great resources offered in our local waters.

In recent years, Todd has been involved with Bikes for Tykes. Graciously devoting time and serving as Vice-President. Todd organized shop activities, public events as well as inventory and distribution for thousands of bicycles that were offered to the community in need. Bikes for Tykes is a local non-profit that provides bicycles to thousands of children and adults annually. The bicycles provide an important means of recreation, freedom and transportation for many people in need. Bikes for Tykes also promotes bicycle safety and is a strong voice behind local efforts to provide safe bicycle lanes throughout the county.

Since receiving his Captains license in 1981 at the age of 18, Capt. Todd has enjoyed a long, prosperous career guiding full time on the shallow waters of SW Florida. He has shared his passion with many thousands of clients over the years and has built a reputation as one of the most sought and respected inshore guides in the area. His name is synonymous with light tackle fishing in Naples. He has developed lasting relationships with a long list of regular clients and in many cases is now fishing with the third generation of some of his original anglers.

Todd has been featured in numerous regional and national publications such as Saltwater Sportsman, Florida Sportsman, Sportfishing, Gulf Shore Life and Coastal Living. He also submits regular fishing reports to Cyberangler.com, Fishhound.com, Naples Daily News and Florida Sport Fishing magazine online.

Capt. Todd and his teams are no strangers to the awards podium at fishing tournaments with numerous wins and top finishes. This includes the 2011 Division Champions as well as two time Grand Slam Champions along with many other top finishes in the prestigious Redsnook tournament. Capt. Todd’s teams have also taken first place and several top three finishes in the long running Caloosa Catch and Release Series.

Capt. Todd served on the YMCA Redsnook tournament committee as well as co-chairing the event. He also organized and chaired the YMCA Junior Redsnook tournament in 2004-05. This tournament gave 50 area youngsters the opportunity to fish on guided boats for a variety of fun species. Many of the children had never been given the chance to fish on area waters before.

Capt, Todd continues to provide memories for his clients, many of whom Todd has been sharing the boat with for over 40 years and some of which are 3rd generation of his original anglers.

Todd now enjoys time outdoors fishing locally as well as other destinations.Description goes here

  • Michael Patten

Michael Patten may have officially joined the staff of Park attendants in November 2024, but his connection to Naples runs deep—spanning nearly four decades of visits, family ties, and a long-held dream to make this tropical paradise his home. A native of Massachusetts, Michael’s first encounter with Naples was in 1984, when he and his wife, Leslie, came to visit her parents, who had settled into their new home in Old Naples. Arriving late at night, Michael woke the next morning to the kind of scene that changes lives: warm sunshine, swaying palms, a crisp blue sky, and the gentlehush of Gulf breezes. As he sipped coffee poolside, he made a declaration with the certainty of a man who knew what he wanted — When it’s time to retire, this is where I’m coming.

True to his word, when retirement arrived, Michael and Leslie moved to the Moorings in 2015, launching the next chapter of their lives. But retirement, for Michael, has never meant slowing down. His decades-long career in international business spanned six continents and took him everywhere from the boardrooms of Europe to the markets of

Asia and the shores of Australia, where he and Leslie lived for four years while leading Pacific operations. A graduate of Boston College, he pursued further MBA studies at Northeastern University and advanced coursework at the Institut Europeen d’Administration des Affaires (INSEAD) in Singapore, specializing in international marketing and operations—an education that fueled his 40-year journey through the information and medical technology industries.

Though his passport is well-worn, Michael has always made time for service, a value he continues to uphold in Naples. He has found a rewarding role with Meals on Wheels, delivering more than just food—bringing kindness, conversation, and a sense of connection to those who need it most. A man of boundless energy, Michael is a lifelong athlete with a competitive spirit. While

he enjoys golf, tennis, pickleball, swimming, and skiing, his true passion is long-distance running. He has completed more than 50 USATF-sanctioned half-marathons, proving that endurance—both in sport and in life—is one of his defining traits. When not on the move, Michael and Leslie delight in visiting their three children and four grandchildren, with frequent trips to Boston, Cape Cod, New York, and New Orleans. And here in Naples, he has found joy in the simple pleasures: a well-maintained park, a friendly conversation, and the chance to connect with others who share his love for this special place.

Now, as part of the Park attendants team, Michael brings the same enthusiasm and dedication that have shaped his remarkable life. Whether he’s greeting members, helping visitors feel at home, or simply sharing a story over a cup of coffee, he treasures every opportunity to engage with the community—just as he always knew he would.

  • Ron Perry

    Ron Perry

Ron is from Scranton, PA but lived most of his early adult life in Marin County, northern California. A lover of the beach, Ron has been drawn to the water his entire life, embracing sailing, scuba diving, fishing and kayaking. He is trained as an accountant and is a CPA, now using his expertise primarily on personal financial management. Ron has led an active volunteer life over the years serving others at veterans’ homes, hospitals, and soup kitchens. Ron was a member of the Secular Franciscans, an organization founded by St. Francis himself for people who live everyday lives, but feel inspired or called by the message of this saint.

Regular Beach Park visitors likely knew Ron before he was officially on staff because his routine included (and still includes!) visiting the Moorings Beach Park three times each day. In the morning as part of his daily bike ride he visits the park to 'check the water'. Mid-day he brings his kayak to the park for a daily paddle, calculating that he logs over 100 miles per month kayaking from the Beach Park to the pier and back each day. In the evening, he returns to enjoy the close of the day at the Park. Ron says, "When I come down in the evening, I put aside the cares of the day and take time to simply be thankful for all my blessings."

Ron enjoys reading the inscriptions on the beach park benches, sensing the love and appreciation both he and MPOA members have for the park.

  • Pete Sharkey

    Pete Sharkey

Pete calls the Moorings Beach Park 'The Nicest Reading Room in the World", which speaks to both his appreciation for the natural beauty of the park and to one of his favorite pastimes, reading. Pete is an avid reader and especially loves mysteries from the authors Ian Rankin, Ed McBain and Matthew Dunn.

In his previous life, Pete was a very successful businessman, with experience both with his own businesses, and employed with a privately held manufacturing business. Originally from New Jersey, Pete, his wife, and their five children decided in 2000 to look at moving to Florida for a change of scenery, lifestyle and weather. Staying in Old Naples while checking out the area, on a fluke they happened upon a great home for sale located between their hotel and the beach--and they bought it!

Pete commuted for a few years before retiring, and now when he's not working at the Beach Park he substitute teaches. He just secured his real estate license as well!

Pete has been working at the park since March, 2013 and loves to talk about the people he's met there, especially the regulars who come nearly every day. Pete knows them by name and speaks affectionately of the young families who come in the morning, the sunset watchers who visit in the late afternoon, and the families who have been enjoying the park for generations.

  • Jim Rozzi

Meet Jim, a Gold Member, who has joined us at the Park as an attendant to work Sundays and fill temporary vacancies with the added benefit of being near the water he loves.
